AI in the Pregnancy and Childcare Market: Google Alum Woojong Koh Collaborates with Humanscape

Bloter met with Woojong Koh, CEO of Cowork AI, and Lee Seung-won, PM of Humanscape, at the Humanscape office in Gangnam, Seoul on the 12th to discuss why Cowork AI has embarked on a technical collaboration with pregnancy and childcare platform company Humanscape.
Background of Collaboration between Cowork AI and Humanscape
CEO Goo aims to integrate their generative artificial intelligence (AI) model into Humanscape’s pregnancy and childcare platform, MamiTalk, to overcome users’ unmet demands through new services.
Goo’s collaboration with Humanscape was supported by his experience at Waymo, a self-driving car software company, after a stint at Google. He identified the pregnancy and childcare market as a promising field for AI integration, considering it a universal lifecycle with growing unmet demands.
Targeting the Korean market, where MamiTalk already has a substantial pool of expectant mothers, Cowork AI plans to embed their AI to introduce diverse solutions. The partnership aligned as Humanscape was also exploring AI-driven business expansion.
Goo explained, “With demographic shifts creating social issues globally, new markets are emerging. We believe platforms like MamiTalk are key to expanding AI-driven services.”
An ex-Google headquarters software engineer, Goo is known as an AI expert, having joined Google’s headquarters doctoral program after completing his bachelor’s at Seoul National University and master’s at UC Berkeley in computer science. At Waymo, he developed deep learning models and modules for traffic sign detection and classification using LiDAR and camera-based systems.
Goo’s conviction in the AI industry’s growth led to launching Cowork AI, a generative AI startup, in the U.S. in 2022.
“Working at the forefront with big techs like Google in Silicon Valley, I witnessed AI industry’s rapid expansion. Today, I am confident that the advancements will outpace those of the past by over tenfold,” he reflected.
Reception and Growth Prospects of Pregnancy and Childcare Services
As their first collaboration, Cowork AI introduced “Baby Magic,” a generative AI technology for baby photos based on ultrasound images, to MamiTalk. Users can quickly receive a digitally predicted version of their baby’s photo from an ‘ultrasound image crop’ submitted to MamiTalk.
A survey found that over 93% of respondents felt joy, delight, and reassurance when using Baby Magic, and more than 85% rated their satisfaction as perfect (5/5).
“By selling Baby Magic, a generative AI interpretation model developed by Cowork AI, through the MamiTalk platform, we provide not just fun but also psychological comfort to expectant mothers,” said PM Lee. “We will introduce Baby Magic in other global regions where MamiTalk operates, engaging a diverse user base.”
Future Collaborative Plans
The companies plan to extend their services, integrating AI to assist in health management throughout the pregnancy and childcare lifecycle. They identified AI’s potential in effectively managing infant nutrition and improving mothers’ lifestyle habits, predicting increased revenue from MamiTalk’s global markets.
“MamiTalk already serves over a million users domestically, unveiling real unmet needs. Together with Cowork AI, we’ll strive to overcome concerns and challenges faced during the pregnancy journey using AI, thereby creating significant value,” emphasized CEO Goo.
